Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for the Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. The year 1969 was the first time she took part in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an the all-around junior champion. At her first competitive event in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career in entertainment in her teens performing as the figure skating duo of her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
