Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. One of her first Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her career working with famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is an Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
